A photograph of a hillside late in the fall near a winery in Temecula. You know this is southern California because there isn’t any grass! And yet, the view is beautiful. In the fall the sky is full of fluffy clouds, which make for striking skyscapes. There really is beauty no matter where you look, even in the desert in September where there hasn’t been any water in a long time.

Early morning is always a good time to photograph scenics around our valley in Temecula. This actually belongs to Mt. Palomar winery and was taken about 7:00 a.m. very late in the season. You can see that the grapes are dried up and the leaves have turned to gold. This is when they will harvest the sweet wines, after the grapes have stayed as long as possible on the vine gathering sugar.
